There’s a lot that could be said about goth as a sub/counterculture. Like I could literally go on for hours. I actually took a communications class in college and literally did my final presentation on the history of goth. its that serious.
Anyway, here’s the arbitrary disclaimer that people can and will argue about what it means to be goth, and if it is entirely rooted in the music it’s associated with, or if dressing the part is enough on its own, if this entire argument is stupid, etc….
My personal opinion, for what it’s worth (not much, I promise you), is that cultures and subcultures change with society and adapt to our circumstances.
